Asha is a new food delivery app that matches you to your next meal!
Nowadays, when the hustle culture is thriving, one of the challenges people face when ordering from a food-delivery service is a low risk-readiness. Many of us would prefer to order something that we already had multiple times so as not to risk being disappointed.
Yet, there are hundreds of possible options that can match our preferences — we simply aren’t aware of them!
Asha helps you find a perfect meal match for you by using a Tinder-like matching mechanic for dishes on one hand and having a preselected list of quality plates with high-level visual content and tags on the other hand.
Challenge
Asha entered the market with pretty intense competition, meaning that they needed to provide an experience close to the level of market leaders and be unique at the same time.
To start moving in this direction and get fundraising, they needed a simple Proof of Concept to validate the market and their product.
Additionally, features that weren’t included in the PoC needed to be managed manually, which our team set up for Asha. From the UI perspective, it needed to have habitual gesture-based navigation with HD meal visuals.
Process
To meet all needs of the project, we created a team of a Project Manager, a Lead FullStack Developer, a Mobile Developer, and a CTO.
It took us 6 weeks to tackle the challenges, which included:
Pre-Project - 2 Weeks
Agile Development - 9 Weeks
Release - 1 Weeks
Solution
To build the PoC, we used the React Native framework for time- & cost-efficiency with no damage to performance.
To conveniently manage the ordering flow, we decided to set up the GraphCMS — it’s easily integrable with Reach Native, has a user-friendly dashboard, and a seamless type system.
Another aspect we had to take over is finding the most efficient way of informing users that the order is ready. For this purpose, we enabled push-notifications with the help of Firebase Cloud Messaging together with Cloud Functions for Firebase.
Since the ordering flow included managers handling it, we used GraphCMS Slack integration to notify them through Slack in the first place.
In this way, we developed an app that perfectly suited Asha’s goals and allowed them to successfully launch the product on the market.

"We originally got in touch with Stormotion from our original app developer. And very soon we found real value in choosing Stormotion, because they previously had real valuable experience on the field – digital apps working in the realm of EV charging. So, it was really a no-brainer for us to to go with them."

"The Stormotion team quickly became our team for everything Native app-related. It would be hard to name all the things that we built over the many years we worked together, but overall, I think we had a good partner who was able to adapt the way we worked, and the way they worked. So that we could ultimately build a product that had the quality that we wanted and with the speed that we wanted."

"Given a tough budget and a lack of knowledge in our own engineering team, we quickly came to Stormotion. We had already worked together on previous projects, and I knew that, based on React Native, we could have one engineer responsible for it. That was just amazing because I could really focus on our customer side, knowing that the mobile application for the testers was in very good hands."

"I highly recommend Stormotion as a service provider for app development. They're young, flexible, dynamic, creative and very fast. The cost of planning and implementation is also reasonable. As they use "pay as you go", have a good plan first – then the result also will be satisfactory."

Whether it's something urgent or whether it's a bigger task, like building the structure of the architecture, I always felt like I was treated very well. Stormotion delivered a great app experience from day one."
